Efficient Communication

User is notified they don't have Wireless Internet on their mobile device.

Wifi Notification (1).png
Objective

Alert a mobile device user they do not have WIFI access. The goal is to communicate this in 30 characters or less.

User Scenario

A user needs to use WIFI on their mobile device.

Creating a User Persona

For this challenge, I envisioned a user on the go, in need of WIFI to do their job. The last thing they'd want is to be notified they have no WIFI access. That would be stressful and frustrating.

Designing the WIFI Graphics
Because the goal of this task is to communicate no WIFI in 30 characters or less, the graphics carry much more weight.  I started with a grey rectangular base with rounded edges.

The WIFI graphic took the most time but broken down, it's a simple construction of lines and an inverted triangle.

Next I incorporated a simple blue square to represent the phone screen.

Finally, a frowning emoji is created with a yellow circle base, black circles and a semi-ellipse.

Project Reflections

This project was an engaging and rewarding challenge. I firmly believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, and in UX writing, brevity is essential. Effective visuals play a crucial role in streamlining communication and enhancing the user experience. Through this project, I focused on creating graphics that conveyed clear messages with fewer than 30 characters, successfully guiding users to take their next steps effortlessly.
